Jenn Ward (she/her) MSW, RSW, BSW

Clinical Social Worker & Psychotherapist

As a Clinical Social Worker Psychotherapist and Trauma specialist,  I support Adult Individuals and Couples. I practice from and anti-oppressive, strengths-based framework that is sex-positive. I love to work with clients in navigating challenges or improvement goals in relationships with friends, colleagues as well as “chosen” and biological family members. I work with couples and intimate relationships of all types, including consensual non-monogamy. I am a proud ally of the LGBTQ2+ Community.

My primary goal in working with any client/s is that they feel safe and supported while we explore history, goals, intervention and treatment together. I believe that you are the expert of your own experience and life.  Any work we do will focus on relationships- importantly – this includes your relationship with yourself.  As such, self-compassion is regular topic and item for consideration in my clinical work with clients.  I have an eclectic approach that aims to be client-centered, and utilizes elements of therapeutic modalities best suited to your needs and goals. I firmly believe that there is no one size fits all approach to therapy- the work we do together will be as unique as you/ your relationships and the goals and challenges you identify as priorities.

I am a Masters level ( MSW) Registered Social Worker( RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I am also a member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Social Work is a Regulated Health Profession and many employee benefits plans are now reimbursing members for the cost of counselling with Master’s Degree Registered Social Workers. As such, my fees are often covered or partially covered by your work extended health benefits. Check with your plan administrator to see if you can have your sessions paid for by your plan, as individual plans vary in coverage. As part of my commitment to my clients and social work values, I maintain a portion of my client base at reduced fee or sliding scale for clients who do not have extended coverage. Please contact me directly to discuss.

Although therapy can, at times, be painful and difficult, I hope that we might also share some laughs, celebrations and genuine moments of human connection along the way.
