Monica Duffy, M.S.W., R.S.W.

Specializing in Adolescent Mental Health

I have had the pleasure of working as a Social Worker for the past 25 years after completing Undergraduate Degrees in both Psychology (Brock University 1988) and Social Work (McMaster University 1992) which was then followed by a Graduate Degree in clinical Social Work -MSW (University of Toronto 2001). I am committed to continued evidenced-based education to ensure the advancement of my therapeutic skills and to staying current with relevant issues in order to meet the needs of my clients. I have advanced training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Eating Disorders, Mindfulness and Crisis Intervention. Guided by this training and my client-centred approach, I work collaboratively with my clients to assist them with achieving their desired outcomes from psychotherapy.

My focus on Adolescent Mental Health began many years ago during a work adventure in England. I quickly learned that Youth inspire, energize and fascinate me. I feel it is a privilege to work with Youth during a time of intense self-discovery and growth. I have also learned that inevitably road bumps appear in our lives. For some of us, it is during those times that we may need to learn new ways to cope or have the opportunity to explore our experiences in a deeper meaningful way so that we can move forward in a healthy productive way.

I began my private practice in 2011 on a part-time evening basis while I work full-time as a Social Worker for the Toronto District School Board. My family and I recently relocated to Mississauga which prompted the pleasure of joining the Aquility Centre. I have office hours on Wednesday evenings. I offer both individual psychotherapy and family counselling for Youth.

I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). As such, my practice is guided by the legal and ethical standards governed by our College.
